Memorial to Sub Officer Crampin & Fireman Marshall

Donation protected
We are raising £4000 to fund a memorial near to the site of Hurcott paper mill to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of Sub Officer Robert Crampin and Fireman Keith Marshall.

8th March 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the Hurcott paper mill fire that claimed the lives of Sub Officer Crampin and Fireman Marshall.

We have successfully secured a FBU Red Plaque but need to purchase a suitable memorial stone and install it at the site.

A memorial close to the site of Hurcott paper mill would provide a focal point for relatives, friends, colleagues and members of the public to pay their respects and remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice.

Funds raised will go towards purchasing and installing a fitting memorial over looking the Hurcott paper mill site, which will serve as a permanent reminder of the fire that took place on 8th March 1974, the bravery of those that fought it and the two that lost their lives fighting it.
