The Curious Ball: Participant Registration

Solo performers take to the runway for a celebration of Vogue excellence!

DIY, high street or designer labels - your fashion, your choice!

⭐️ Lip Sync*
Your time to shine - serve up your favourite track!

⭐️ Fantasy
From out of this world to non-binary finery - live your fantasy!

⭐️ Binary Breaker 
Kings, Queens and everyone in-between - celebrate transcending gender!

⭐️ Sensational
Bring your sensuality to the stage and celebrate your femme power!

Doors open at 7:00pm with the Ball starting at 8:00pm. The running time of the event is 3 hours.

All participants must be available on the afternoon of Saturday 1st July for a familiarisation session including a safety and technical briefing at Dance City prior to the event. If you have participated in a previous Curious Ball, you are still required to attend this briefing. Changing room access times will be confirmed closer to the date.

Please note The Curious Ball is strictly an 18+ event, therefore all participants must be 18+.

You do not need to purchase a ticket to the Curious Ball to take part. If you have already purchased a ticket do pass it on to a friend to support you on the night or return it via Dance City’s Ticket Office (0191 265 0505).

Only those participating in Vogue Solo or Lip Sync will be able to chose their own performance music. For all other categories music will be played by our house DJ on the night.

Participants are expected to respect the health and safety of all participants during the event. For example, please do not use sharp objects, talc, glitter, liquids or any substances which may cause accidental slips, trips and falls as part of your performance.

If your performance includes content or explores themes which require a trigger warning, (for example, discriminatory language) please contact hello@curiousarts.org.uk with more information.

*If you have chosen to participate in Vogue Solo or Lip Sync:

Please let us know which song you will be performing to in the form below.
The song must be pre-edited to 2 minutes long. (The Tech will only play 2 minutes of music)
Song choice is on a first come, first served basis should anyone submit the same track.
Audio files must be sent in advance to hello@curiousarts.org.uk before Friday 30th June and provided on a memory stick on the day of the event.
