Healthy Bladders & Bowels (short course)

This session is a reminder of healthy bladder and bowel management, focussing on the impact constipation and daytime bladder problems have on the child’s ability to achieve continence. An opportunity to test your knowledge and to get up to date on the latest treatments.

Please note that you must have completed this course or another ERIC Healthy Bladders & Bowels course within the last year before booking on to any of our other courses.

Objectives

  • To develop understanding of promotion of healthy bladders and bowels in children
  • To increase knowledge of up-to-date facts on childhood bowel and bladder problems
  • To be clear about the importance of assessment and what tools are available
  • To improve knowledge of the treatments available and when to use them
  • To provide an understanding of the relevant NICE guidance
  • To increase confidence in managing these conditions in the community
  • To establish areas where further learning and/or experience is needed

  • 10.00 - 10.45 Anatomy and physiology of the bowel. Recognition of constipation.
  • 10.45 - 10.55 Break
  • 10.55 - 11.55 Assessment, diagnosis and treatment
  • 11.55 - 12.10 Q & A
  • 12:10 - 12:25 Anatomy and physiology of the bladder. Acquisition of bladder control.
  • 12:25 - 12.35 Break
  • 12.35 - 13:10 Promoting a healthy bladder
  • 13.10- 13.40 Assessment, diagnosis and management of daytime bladder problems
  • 13.40 - 13.55 Q & A
  • 13.55 - 14.00 Closing poll. Evaluation and close

Important information about this event

This course will be delivered via Zoom webinar.

If you are not available to watch this session live, there will be access to the recording for 1 month but you will still need to register.

We would recommend that attendees access this training from home using a personal device if at all possible. If you are intending to use an NHS computer, please check that there are no firewalls in place that will prevent you from joining a Zoom webinar.

Payment information

The cost of the course is £50 per person. Please note that we can now only accept payment by card through our booking system.

If you want to pay by invoice this can be done but please note that payment by this method will cost £65 per person and we must be advised of the purchase order number at the time of booking. Please email [email protected] if you require further information regarding invoice payments.

Cancellation policy

If written notification is received 30 days before the course, we will issue a refund. We regret that no refunds can be made on bookings cancelled less than 30 days before the course. A colleague may attend in your place rather than forfeit the full course fee.

ERIC reserves the right to cancel the course. In the unlikely event of cancellation by ERIC, course fees paid will be refunded in full
