2.18 million women screened (aged 45+)

1.2% decrease from the previous year (2.20 million in 2021-22)

64.6% of women took up their invitation (aged 50-<71)

2.3 percentage point increase on the previous year (62.3% in 2021-22)

18,942 women had cancers detected through screening (aged 45+)

8.7 cases per 1,000 women screened in 2022-23. This compares to 20,152 cancers detected in 2021-22 (a rate of 9.2 per 1,000 screened in 2021-22).
