What is the for Learning in Kigali Initiative?

This initiative is an opportunity for water and sanitation utilities, that are NewIBNET members, to participate in the IWA Development Congress in Kigali and potentially win a full conference package, including travel and accommodation. 

Who can participate in the campaign?

NewIBNET Utility Members that have submitted their Key Performance Indicators and their Management Practices for the year 2022, via the NewIBNET portal or through any of the NewIBNET Partners. 

What are the Participation Steps?
  1. Register your utility as a NewIBNET member.
  2. Submit 15 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for 2022.
  3. Submit a Self-Assessment of 27 Management Practices for your organization in 2022.
  4. Ensure all requirements are met, including two contact names, 15 KPIs, and 27 Management Practices.
  5. Verify the accuracy of your data.
  6. Submit all data before the November 17 deadline.
How do I register as a NewIBNET member?
What is the deadline to submit the data?

The deadline for data submission and joining NewIBNET to participate in the chance to win the Conference Package is November 10, 2023.

Can multiple individuals from the same utility apply for sponsorship?

Unfortunately not, only one person per utility is eligible for sponsorship.

How and when will the selected utilities be announced?

The selection will be done through a public and independent random process. You can find out who is selected live on November 13, 2023, by following the announcement on the NewIBNET website and on https://connect.newibnet.org.

 

What if my utility is selected for sponsorship?

If your utility is selected, you will receive the Full Conference Participation Package for the IWA Congress in Kigali, which includes air travel, transportation, hotel coverage, conference fees, breakfast, lunches, and afternoon coffee/tea. You will also have networking opportunities and access to the NewIBNET learning resources

What if my utility is not selected for sponsorship?

Even if your utility is not selected, you can still benefit from being a part of the NewIBNET network, connecting with professionals in the water and sanitation sector, and accessing learning opportunities on the NewIBNET website.
