Work Experience and Healthcare Careers Support
At Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust, we’re proud to offer work experience placements, providing unique opportunities for mentees to gain insight into community healthcare professions in the NHS. We want to support young people and adult learners to explore career choices in healthcare and help build the knowledge and skill sets of our future NHS workforce.
Placements are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis and must be applied for using our application form below. You should tell us why you are applying and if you are interested in a particular healthcare profession or role so that we can ensure we match you with the correct team. We have lots of teams offering spaces within our community trust, examples include:
- Dentistry
- Nursing (rehabilitation wards)
- Speech and Language Therapy
- Physiotherapy
- Orthoptics
- Care Homes
- Dietetics
- Business Support
- Quality Improvement

Who can apply for work experience?
Anyone aged 14+ can apply for work experience with us but you must be 16+ to take part in a clinical placement. To be eligible for a placement, mentees must be living, or studying, in the boroughs in which CLCH services are delivered (as pictured below). This criteria ensures we are playing an active role in widening access to employment for the communities we support.
Most of our applicants are young people who are seeking work experience to shadow professionals and get a feel for the working world as part of their development at school or college. We also welcome people who are further into their education or career journeys and are curious about a future career in the NHS.
