This year’s Newell Classical Event at St John’s College, Cambridge features the incomparable @edithmayhall on ‘How Virgil Framed Dido’. It will happen online on 13th May at 7.30pm.
The Newell Classical Event is intended to bring the best of Classics to as wide an audience as possible. All will be very welcome; no specialist knowledge will be called for (on the audience’s part, at any rate). Previous speakers have included Ali Smith, Charlotte Higgins, Tom Holland, A. C. Grayling, Emily Wilson, Walter Scheidel and Sheilagh Murnaghan.
