Sometimes things go wrong. At the CCRC, we help to put them right.
From time to time, a criminal case ends with a wrongful conviction or sentence – there may have been errors at trial, or fresh evidence may have emerged.
If the answers are yes, then this could be the start of an incredibly rewarding career – the work you do with us can transform lives and ensure justice is finally done.
We are looking for a researcher to support our team of Case Review Managers who manage mixed caseloads covering the broad spectrum of criminal investigations, ranging from traffic offences to murder. Your work will be varied, interesting and sometimes challenging but always rewarding. You will need to be inquisitive, initiative-taking, analytical and articulate. You must be able to prioritise, planning your work to ensure you produce timely, dependable, and informed reports.
You will be part of a small investigations team that assists Commissioners and Case Review Managers with research relating to the investigation of criminal convictions and sentences prosecuted in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
So, if you enjoy variety, helping colleagues and have an interest in miscarriages of justice, we would be delighted to hear from you!
