We are currently offering fully funded training in Empathetic Refutational Interview (ERI) technique developed to help healthcare professionals and support staff in conversations with people who have concerns about vaccination.

The ERI has been developed on a strong foundation of psychological research and testing. It provides a framework for effective conversations by focusing on the underlying reasons for people’s concerns (their psychological ‘attitude roots’) in order to help them make informed decisions about vaccination.

The training covers:

Jiu Jitsu is a martial art that coaches people to use the opponents’ force against them, rather than trying to defeat it head-on. We have used this name to reflect how the ERI finds ways of working with people’s motivations rather than fighting them.

Empathetic Refutational Interviewing incorporates Motivational Interviewing techniques and is based around two core psychological principles:
