Campaign update (March 2024):

The Society of Antiquaries of London secures its future at Burlington House

The Society of Antiquaries of London is pleased to share today that after successful talks with The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, we and the other Learned Societies of Burlington House have been granted a 999-year leasehold agreement. This agreement will allow us, and our Learned Society neighbours, to protect the scientific and cultural ecosystem at Burlington House. We look forward to building on our public engagement work, and continuing to foster research, promote learning for all and to inspire our audiences.

“The Society of Antiquaries is delighted to see the long-running issue of its lease at Burlington House successfully resolved with the Government. This will enable the Society to further develop its work in supporting research into the human past and communicating such knowledge to broad and diverse public. We are very grateful to the wide spectrum of people who have actively supported our campaign to achieve this.”
Martin Millett, President of the Society of Antiquaries
