Grief can be overwhelming and it can make you feel as though you have lost your way, unable to imagine a world without a loved one. Our aim is to support you through this painful experience with care and compassion. Bereavement counselling helps you to slowly make steps towards coming to terms with this loss.
Professionally led and with a small Board of Trustees, our Counsellors are a mixture of qualified therapists and trainees trained in person centred, integrative and psycho dynamic counselling.
Our service is borough-wide across the community of Barnet and aimed at adults aged 18+ years.
We offer free counselling sessions time-limited to 12 weeks.
Barnet Bereavement Service has been established for some 40 years. It was started as a result of a conversation between a Probation Officer and a Citizens Advice Bureau Worker who found in their work that there was a need for a specific counselling service for the bereaved.
Barnet Bereavement Service relies on fundraising and grant giving and we could not run our service without the generous donations of organisations and individuals.
Any donations to our service would be gratefully received. Donations help us to organise and plan our service for people in need.
