Recipe 4 Health Scheme
We're working with food business to help tackle childhood obesity and improve health and wellbeing.
If you are a local food takeaway, café or sandwich shop selling snacks and meals, and you scored at least 3 stars or over for the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme, you can apply to the Recipe 4 Health Scheme.
You will get:
- free publicity through Pendle Borough Council and Lancashire County Council
- potential business opportunities for Pendle Holiday Activities and food contracts
What are healthier choices?
Healthier choices can be things like:
- offering more salads and fruit
- smaller portions
- reducing salt content in food
- providing water as a choice instead of fizzy drinks with a high sugar content
There are three levels for the Recipe 4 Health award – bronze, silver and gold. Businesses have to start by applying for bronze.

You can sign up to the Recipe 4 Health Scheme on the Lancashire County Council website.
