are joining the Smithfied Chimney Charity Challenge & are going to abseil 190ft down the iconic Smithfield tower in aid of two charities.
The Gavin Glynn Foundation is especially a charity very close to our hearts.
A lot of you would know our son Josh was treated for a Malignant Rhabdoid tumor in his neck in 2019 & received treatment in Germany not sure we could have managed without help of TGGF. Our son is doing well now & is in school. My colleagues who were so supportive when I needed them giving me leave so I could look after him. On returning to work I leaned on them again to assist other families travel for treatment like we did as I found it hard and I knew the airport so well.
With the full backing of Aer lingus we are now an 80 strong group of Volunteers who on our days off meet & assist families travelling for cancer treatment through the airport , hand them over to the operating crew. Hopefully making the journey easier. We have an Instagram page @team.gavinglynnsupport where you can read about how we help families in this awful predicament.
Only a small help considering what the foundation itself does.
10 of us from the group have opted to do this challenge.
We have linked in with Louise Quail another Mam who was also in Germany with her son for treatment & her sister who’s son Rian was diagnosed with rare (DiGeorge Syndrome ) where a small piece of genetic material is missing from a persons dna. Her little boy was very sick & was supported by 22Q11 Ireland
They asked us to take part to raise vital funds for these two charities
We know there is huge pressures on people these days but would appreciate anything you can give at all.
All funds raised here will go directly to the charities in question so they can continue their great work.
You can also share our page using the Share options. This is a great way to show your support.
Thankyou !
